Adrian began his butchery career working as a Saturday boy on the front counter of a local butcher’s shop. He attended Colchester Avenue College in Cardiff where he received his Institute of Meat membership and qualifications. At the age of 18 he was working as a senior butcher in a Hereford supermarket and by the age of 19 had started his own butchery business.
On the 25th February 2014 Adrian was awarded the prestigious award of Accredited Master Butcher by the Meat Training Council at their annual dinner held in the historic Butchers Hall in Smithfield, London. This impressive award makes him one of only 14 in the UK and the only one in Wales and the Three Counties of Herefordshire, Worcestershire and Gloucestershire.
Under Adrian’s management, Golden Valley Meat and Game has been serving the retail and catering industry for nearly 25 years. It supplies the highest quality meat, poultry and game locally sourced wherever possible and fully traceable. They supply many of the finest hotels and restaurants in Monmouthshire and there is a strong possibility that when eating out locally you will be enjoying meat that has been butchered by Adrian and his team. They also supply local shops with home cooked meats and bacon together with sausages and burgers made in house to their own recipes. Visitors to Monmouthshire can taste bacon and sausage for their breakfast at a number of hotels and guest houses locally.
Golden Valley Meat and Game is a family business located in the grounds of the family home with a fully equipped butcher’s facility. It is in the village of Grosmont in the county of Monmouthshire close to its border with Herefordshire in an area of outstanding natural beauty. A wonderful place to live and work.
